There will be a need on a regular basis to audit and review performance against a set of agreed criteria. This may include:
- Safety performance and adherence to standards
- Fulfilment of contractual obligations
- Records of all actions
- Identification of non-conforming conditions
- Progress of corrective actions and preventative measures
- Training review
This unit covers:
- Preparation for review meetings
- Establishing performance criteria

This unit is for those with responsibility to commission and set up water treatment equipment using prescribed company operating procedures.
The equipment involved and the conditions necessary for the specific operations to be performed are defined in written instructions. Responsibility is limited to carrying out the defined procedure and recording the result. Any deviations from the company operating procedures are referred to others for action.
This unit deals with the following:
- Preparation for commissioning
- Checking equipment and conditions
- Identifying the water treatment equipment
- Carrying out commissioning safely
- Recording operations
During this work the learner must take account of the relevant worksite operational requirements, procedures and safe working practices as they apply to the learner.
Evidence Requirements
The learner should provide evidence to meet the requirements of the Assessment Criteria, and those aspects of the Assessment Context (described below) that are relevant to their workplace and work role.
The learner should:

This unit addresses the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and give presentations and demonstrations in the water industry.
This unit is appropriate for those involved in activities such as:
- Demonstrating how test equipment is used
- Demonstrating how dosing and control equipment is operated
- Giving instructions on what to do or how to carry out a particular activity
- Providing technical guidance, knowledge and skills
- Instructing on completion of company documentation

This unit addresses the competence required to report, record, resolve and manage non conformances that arise, with regard to water treatment programmes, within the individual’s limit of authority.
This unit deals with the following:
- Reporting and recording non conformance
- Identifying the appropriate resolution of the non conformance
- Initiating corrective actions
- Monitoring the adoption of corrective actions
- Identifying any improvement actions that can be taken to minimise any re-occurrence of the non conformance
Evidence Requirements
The learner should provide evidence to meet the requirements of the Assessment Criteria, and those aspects of the Assessment Context (described below) that are relevant to their workplace and work role.
The learner should:
Demonstrate they carry out activity relevant to this unit over a period of not less than three months on at least three separate occasions

Responsibility is limited to carrying out the defined procedure and recording the result. Any deviations from the company operating procedures are referred to others for action.

- Checking equipment and conditions

- Carrying out installations safely

This unit is for those with delegation responsibilities for meeting health and safety requirements and minimising risks to the environment as a result of work activities.
This unit deals with the following:
- Compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements in the workplace
- Generation of site specific work task risk assessments
- Generation of site specific method statements
- Responding to accidents and incidents within the workplace
- Identifying the risks to the environment arising as a result of workplace activities
- Minimising risks to the environment arising as a result of workplace activities

This unit is for those with responsibility to provide prices to clients for the supply of products and services.
Provision can include quotations and formal tender replies in a number of formats:
- Verbal and written quotations
- Tender documentation
- Catalogues and price lists
- Electronic media including websites and email
This includes all products and services that may be supplied to a client for water treatment, water hygiene, equipment installation and servicing, legionella monitoring works and legionella risk assessments.
